Overview
Sam Aruiza is a first-year Brooks Fellow Master of Public Administration (MPA) student at Cornell's Jeb Brooks School of Public Policy. She has her Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara with minor in Poverty, Inequality, and Social Justice. She is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer from the Philippines, where she worked in human trafficking prevention and survivor reintegration and aftercare. She is a first-gen student whose family is from Mexico and the Philippines. Sam speaks English, Spanish, and Bisaya and studies other Filipino languages Tagalog and Pangasinense. She is passionate about education accessibility, poverty prevention, and women and children's rights and wants to work towards uplifting the human condition.
