Overview
Hugo is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Cornell University’s School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where he focuses on the design of electricity markets and their pivotal role in transitioning to a low-carbon economy. He previously earned a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the Universidade Federal Fluminense in Niterói, Brazil.As a native speaker of Brazilian Portuguese, Hugo has spent over 15 years honing his English skills. His language journey deepened during a one-year exchange program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in New York, where he became fluent in both academic and everyday contexts. Today, he channels both his understanding of the language and his passion for teaching to his lessons. Outside his research and tutoring, Hugo enjoys long walks, reading, singing, and rowing.
